**A Review**

Insidious: The Red Door is a 2023 American supernatural horror film directed by Patrick Wilson in his directorial debut from a screenplay by Scott Teems based on a story by Leigh Whannell and Teems. It is a direct sequel to Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), and the fifth installment in the Insidious franchise. Original director James Wan serves as a producer, as does Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner. Wilson, Ty Simpkins, Rose Byrne, Andrew Astor, Steve Coulter, Joseph Bishara, Whannell, Angus Sampson, and Lin Shaye reprise their roles from previous films; Sinclair Daniel and Hiam Abbass also join the cast.

The film follows the Lambert family as they attempt to put their demons to rest once and for all. Josh (Wilson) and a college-aged Dalton (Simpkins) must go deeper into The Further than ever before, facing their family’s dark past and a host of new and more horrifying terrors that lurk behind the red door.

The film received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the film’s scares and atmosphere, while others criticized its lack of originality. However, the film was a commercial success, grossing over $188 million worldwide.

* The film is visually stunning, with some truly terrifying imagery.

* The performances are all strong, with Wilson and Simpkins giving particularly memorable turns.

* The film is genuinely suspenseful, with some well-crafted jump scares.

* The film is a bit derivative of previous Insidious films.

* The ending is somewhat anticlimactic.

Insidious: The Red Door is a well-made horror film that will satisfy fans of the franchise. It is not the most original film in the world, but it is still effective at delivering scares.

If you are a fan of the Insidious franchise, then you will likely enjoy Insidious: The Red Door. It is a solid entry in the series that is sure to provide some scares. However, if you are looking for something truly original, then you may be disappointed.
